CONSTITUTION
OF THE
FAIRFIELD COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, OHIO
ARTICLE ONE - NAME
The name of this association shall be
the Fairfield County Bar Association.
ARTICLE TWO - OBJECTIVES
This Fairfield County Bar Association
(Association) shall have as its objectives and purposes the following:

The facilitation of the administration of justice;

The presentation of high standards of integrity, honor and
dignity in the legal profession;

The maintenance of rapport and cooperation with local, state,
federal and other bar associations;

The cultivation of the spirit of good fellowship among the
members.
ARTICLE THREE – MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
Ohio and Federal Judges and any
attorney licensed to practice in the state of Ohio shall be eligible
for membership in this Association. A member shall be any of those
aforementioned who has paid his or her dues for any year for which
membership is sought. Dues shall become payable for each member upon
the earlier of a written notice of dues or by February 1st
of the dues year. The written notice of dues may be provided by
e-mail, by announcement in the Association newsletter, courthouse box
notice, or mail to the last known address of each member. The dues
shall be made payable to the “Fairfield County Bar Association.” and
forwarded to the Association’s Treasurer. Membership dues are $50.00
per member per year until changed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
members present and voting at any regular or annual meeting, however,
a new member who has been licensed to practice for less than one year
shall receive a 50% discount. A member in this Association shall have
the right to vote, hold office and serve on committees.
ARTICLE FOUR - ADOPTION OF BY-LAWS
The association shall adopt By-Laws for the
conduct of its affairs, in harmony with this Constitution and with any
mandates of the Ohio Supreme Court.
ARTICLE FIVE - AMENDMENTS
The Constitution and By-Laws of this
Association may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members
present and voting at any annual meeting, regular meeting, or special
meeting, provided that written notice of proposed amendments shall
have been given to the members not less than ten (10) days in advance
of such meeting.
ARTICLE SIX - DISCRIMINATION
No expenditure to any person, business, or
other entity shall be made by, or on behalf of or in the name of, this
Association which expenditure secures or attempts to secure for this
Association's membership, or part thereof, any goods, services,
entertainment, or other benefit if that person, business, or other
entity has any policy or practice of discrimination against or
exclusion of, any person or persons on the basis of his, her, or their
race, sex, age, religion, ethnic origin, handicap, or sexual
preference.
ARTICLE SEVEN - EFFECTIVE DATE
This constitution shall take effect on the
seventeenth day of April 17th, 2003.
